Dorene Bolze
President & CEO
Dorie has served for over 20 years as the first Executive Director of the Harpeth Conservancy. As of April 2017, Dorie is now the President & CEO. Bolze has over 35 years of work experience in the field of water quality science and policy, conservation policy and biology related to wildlife conservation, energy efficiency, marine fisheries, protected area management, and international wildlife trade. Bolze earned her Masters of Environmental Management degree from the Yale School of Forestry and her B.S. in zoology from Duke University where she was an A.B. Duke Scholar and a Deborah Steer Scholar at the Duke Marine Laboratory.
Jim Redwine
Vice President & COO
In March 2016, Jim joined the Harpeth Conservancy in a new senior position as Director of the Water Quality Protection and Sustainability Program. As of April 2017, Jim is now Vice President and COO. Jim has over 30 years of experience as a corporate executive, and environmental and bankruptcy attorney. He received the 2011 American Bar Association Award for Excellence in Environmental, Energy, and Resources Stewardship for his work on the General Motors bankruptcy.Jim received his B.A. magna cum laude from Harvard University and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University.
Haylee Hall
Development Director
Haylee Waddey Hall is serving as the Harpeth Conservancy’s Development Director. Prior to joining our team, she served as Director of Marketing and Development for The Belcourt Theatre; Director of Development and Outreach for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Middle Tennessee; Marketing Director for Nashville Jet Charters and Marketing Director for Wildhorse Saloon. Haylee received her B.S. in Business Administration from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Her love of the Harpeth River stems from growing up canoeing and rope-swinging in it and now cycling and running alongside it.
Ryan Jackwood
Watershed Science & Restoration Program Director
Ryan joined the Harpeth Conservancy as the Watershed Science and Restoration Program Director. He will provide strategic direction for our science-based programs and implement restoration priorities based on water quality assessment. Ryan is originally from Ohio where he earned a B.S. degree from Ohio State University and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Toledo researching issues with water quality and harmful algal blooms on Lake Erie.
Philanthropy & Membership Manager
A longtime community non-profit administrator with more than 20 years’ experience in program development, joined Harpeth Conservancy in December 2019. With a B.A. in Sociology from Western Kentucky University, she has built a career at multiple nonprofits in Nashville and beyond, including Renewal House, St. Luke’s Community House and FiftyForward. A Cheatham County native, she was raised on the Harpeth River and loves kayaking, hiking and being outdoors.
Samantha Estes
AmeriCorps Member, Volunteer Restoration Project Coordinator
Samantha joined Harpeth Conservancy as an AmeriCorps Member in 2018 and will serve as the Volunteer Restoration Project Coordinator until August 2020. While here, Samantha will be focusing on the Be River Responsible campaign and coordinating our volunteer efforts through the various restoration opportunities Harpeth offers. Originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Samantha graduated from Berry College in Georgia where she studied Environmental Science with a Biology focus.
Meriweather Bean
AmeriCorps Member, Community Outreach & Education Coordinator
Meriweather joined Harpeth Conservancy in August 2019 to serve a 1-year AmeriCorps term as Community Outreach Coordinator. She will be focusing on expanding outreach efforts through community events, educational programs and social media communication. Meriweather moved to Nashville from Jackson, MS where she earned a B.A. in Anthropology at Millsaps College. She is passionate about community engagement and being connected to our natural world. She often enjoys kayaking, hiking and any way to explore the outdoors.
Haley Tucker
AmeriCorps Member- Citizen Science & Volunteer Restoration Project Coordinator
Haley joined the Harpeth Conservancy team as an AmeriCorps Member in August. She will be serving a 1-year term as the Citizen Science and Volunteer Restoration Project Coordinator. While serving she will help coordinate stream restoration and river cleanup events and programs. Haley is originally from New Orleans, LA and recently graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South with a BA in Environment and Sustainability and a Minor in Political Science.
